This tour is absolutely worth it. Tim is a great guide. He’s energetic and passionate about the tour. He’s a great storyteller. The tour length is right in both time and distance and the food is excellent. We went back to a couple of spots to try more of the menu later in the week. I highly recommend this tour.

We had an amazing experience on the Eat, Walk, Drink tour! It was such a fun way to explore the DC area while enjoying great food and drinks along the way.
Our tour guide Tim was fantastic—friendly, knowledgeable, engaging, and made the entire experience even more enjoyable. Everything was well organized, the stops were great, and the pace of the tour was perfect. Nothing better than learning about DC than from a person that knows and loves DC.
This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a fun and memorable way to experience the city. Great food, great drinks, and an excellent guide!

This is possibly my favorite tour I have ever been on, and I have been on many throughout this country and others.
Tim is an amazing guide. He loves his city and it shows in his passion and storytelling throughout the time. A 4-hour tour flew by and became 5-hours withe not wanting it to end.
The history lessons are informative and Tim is able to answer any questions asked. It is a great way to learn about actual DC outside of the political areas.
The FOOD…OMG!! The stops and food choices wrapped in the local culture and everything was delicious!! He even accommodated a mocktail menu for my husband who doesn’t drink. With the drinks included, this is an excellent value.
This tour is intimate and everyone really gets to know each other. I left this tour feeling as if I had a new friend. The culmination of rooftop views over the city at night was the perfect ending to a perfect evening.
If you take only one tour in Washington DC, do this one!

A must do in DC! I choose food tours to learn more about the community and local life for which Tim does an excellent job showing you awesome locally run restaurants. However, what makes this tour unique is his absolute zeal in doing so. He has a passion for the city and a love for the restaurant owners that shows he is part of fabric of the local society. I feel like I spent an evening with a good friend and he even surprised us with a small bottle of cashew fruit juice as I mentioned I wondered what it tasted like without the alcohol, it’s almost like a mango juice. One of the best street food tours I’ve done and worth the money.

Recently we booked a private tour with Tim for my family and I. Everyone really enjoyed: the stories, the food, the walk and the places we visited. Tim goes the extra mile to make sure we could all fall in love with DC as much as he has! Pace yourself with the food since everyone was mostly full before the pie at the end! Wish there was some chocolate option for dessert, but that was the only complaint I heard from anyone about this tour. He even got us in touch with the owner of the Pupusa restaurant, and we had a class on how to make them two days later! Lastly, the mocktails were actually better in some cases than the alcoholic drinks! 🙂 If you haven’t tried this tour yet, you need to! Enjoy Go on this tour and enjoy.

Fun tour! Go with your friends. It is nice with a group. Nice walk. Not difficult. Tim was lovely. As someone who lives in the neighborhood I can’t recommend this tour enough. Things that I walk by daily were pointed out that I had not ever noticed. Additionally, I suggest trusting Tim’s ordering suggestions. I had been to a couple of the stops before and had never tried the suggested items, but they all were amazing. If you have guests, this is such an amazing experience that is vastly superior to the tradition tourist things around town.

Wait, what?? There’s THAT much interesting history in the heart of D.C!? I had no idea. And I used to live in nearby Arlington (plus, my dad was born and raised in DC). This is more like visiting a friend and having them take you to their favorite places! Tim provides an amazing experience and really wants you to discover the DC that he loves. The itinerary cover several stops that offer unique and high quality food and drinks in a sit down atmosphere. The history of the establishments, as well as the history of the neighborhoods, are seamlessly blended into the evenings conversation. The walking didn’t seem difficult as it was broken up by our stops. If you want to experience the neighborhoods and people that make DC what it is, this is the tour for you.

Having been on food tours all over the world, I can say that this one is truly unique and special. In addition to incredible food, Tim provides an interesting and informative history of the District of Columbia and its people. Unlike most of the other DC tours, this one takes you away from the mall to local neighborhoods and stories about our capital city’s founding. It is a wonderful complement to and break from the typical Washington sightseeing of monuments and museums. Tim is passionate about DC, and it shows. We had an incredible experience on this food tour and can’t recommend it enough. From the start, our host made us feel like we were longtime friends, not just guests. He went above and beyond, even spending time with us afterward, which made the experience feel truly personal. What stood out most was how he showed us the real side of DC—through its neighborhoods, its people, and its food. The tour introduced us to a unique mix of international cuisines that reflect the diversity of the area, which made it far more interesting than a typical “local food” tour. This was easily the best food tour we’ve ever been on.

My wife and I did the DC tour with Tim yesterday and had an amazing experience. We walked through a couple different neighborhoods of DC (Adam’s Morgan and Dupont Circle) with us stopping at various points and learning about city’s history, the different communities that live here and of course, it’s diverse and delicious food. We stopped at 3 different restaurants and had a drink and a food item at each stop. Tim’s recommendations were top notch and we enjoyed everything we ate and drank, and were definitely full by the end of the evening. At every restaurant, we got to learn about the origin stories of the food, the neighborhood and Tim brought everything to life with his thoughtful storytelling. There is quite a bit of walking on this tour (around 3 miles) and it lasted over 4 hours, but we enjoyed the ethnically diverse food – some seafood, some El Salvadorian and a big Ethiopian platter. The tour ended with us enjoying a delicious dessert at a rooftop overlooking the city. I would highly recommend this walking food tour with DrinkEatWalk. A great way to spend an evening with friends and family.

If you are ever in DC and are looking for a different and cool event idea, then you should book Drink•Eat•Walk tour with Tim. Tim takes you on a 3-4 hour walking tour through neighborhoods of DC that you wouldn’t otherwise know or hear about. He is so knowledgeable with the history of the area and took us to some amazing restaurants for delishes options (oysters, El Salvadorian, Ethiopian and Soul). Not to mention the other unique stops and DC artwork along the route. Tim takes out all the guessing work and does all the work and ordering (taking into consideration allergies and special requests, so you can just sit back and ENJOY! What a fun night! I treated my 21-year old niece and her boyfriend, plus my 24-year old son for a fun night out. It was the nieces first “grown up solo trip” to DC after many as a kid. My 24-year old is a generally a curmudgeon…but he and the rest of us had an amazing time. I’ve lived in Alexandria for 25+ years and this was my first time on some of the streets. We all learned a ton from Tim, this is almost as much of a history tour as it is a food tour. Meeting was easy, just a few blocks from the metro. We hit 3 great local restaurants, had a slice of pre-purchased sweet potato pie, and then enjoyed an amazing 360 degree view of DC from the rooftop of Tim’s apartment building (with a nightcap of local brews). It was the boyfriend’s first time having Ethiopian food and he raved about it. My niece is Gluten sensitive and Tim made sure to take that into account and adjusted menus to work for her. I’ve been on one other food tour where you had to pay extra for beverages. On this one fun cocktails and interesting wine are included! Highly recommend!

Simply the Best Food tour I’ve been on. I often go on food tours on many of my vacations .. This is by far, hands down, the best one ever ! I highly recommend Tim’s tour with no hesitation; this tour is truly a MUST ! Tim thoroughly explained and broke down Washington DC city from Washington to DC, which I never knew .. It is a given we visit the nations capitol to see museums and monuments . Why Eat,Drink and Walk ?? Tims wealth of knowledge and passion for his beloved city is so transparent; hearing the enriched variety of cultures and neighborhoods , pairing them with specialty cocktails , appetizers and dinner was beyond exceptional .. Tim from DrinkEatWalk gave our group one of the best experiences we had in DC. We were traveling with a pretty big group of 17 people, and he was kind enough to accommodate us even though his usual max is 12. From the start, he made everyone feel welcome and kept the tour engaging for the entire group. What really stood out was how informative the tour was without ever feeling like a lecture. Tim shared so much history about the neighborhoods we walked through, and it felt like we were experiencing parts of DC you wouldn’t normally see as a tourist. The stops had way more of a local vibe than the typical spots, which made the whole experience feel authentic and special. I also really appreciated the little things that showed how much he cares about the experience he’s creating. He brought water and even umbrellas for us, which was such a thoughtful touch and really shows the level of service he provides. You can also tell he genuinely loves what he does. His passion for the city, its history, and its culture really comes through in the way he tells stories and engages with the group. I left with a real appreciation for the history and the rich cultures of the communities we visited. Especially during such a crazy time in our country, it felt meaningful to hear the stories and context behind these neighborhoods and how they’ve evolved. And of course, the food and drinks were amazing. By the end of the tour we were definitely full, but more importantly, we were happy. Every single person in our group had a great time and walked away satisfied, even our CEO and his wife who used to live in Dupont Circle and were regulars at a couple of the places we visited! My boyfriend and I live in the neighborhood, and my parents were visiting from out of town, and despite that mix, the experience felt completely new and exciting for all of us. An Unforgettable Foodie Experience

This tour was a spectacular way of experiencing the different cultures that make up DC. We ate at family-owned restaurants and heart the stories behind how they started and became successful. We ate absolutely amazing food and drinks. I loved getting to try food I had never experienced before and hearing stories of the immigrants who came to the area for a better life and added their cultural heritage to the fabric of the DC area. Tim was a fantastic storyteller and we left the tour full and happy. I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to eat the cuisine of the locals. This tour is probably better geared for adults due to the walking and the types of food, but foodies of any age would love it.

I recently went on the D.E.W. food tour with Tim as our guide, and he was absolutely excellent! He brought so much energy and knowledge to the experience. We explored some of my favorite neighborhoods in NW DC, and even as a second-generation Washingtonian, I learned so many new things about the city’s history and culture. I particularly loved exploring some of NW DC’s alleys/street art, the cocktail at El Tamarindo (Rum, Marañón, Pineapple, Vanilla, Lime…WOW) and the Ethiopian spot where we not only enjoyed the food but also watched traditional Ethiopian dancing videos. Drink-Eat-Walk Tour with Tim! When I booked it, I was thinking of a relaxed, informative evening with friends to get to know more about Washington. As a DC/VA native I’m familiar with all of the touristy parts of DC — the monuments, Smithsonian museums, etc. — but had never seen some of the neighborhoods that are hiding in plain sight. Tim was an excellent tour guide, providing interesting history and details about how Shaw, Adams Morgan and other neighborhoods were originally settled and evolved over the years. Overall, the best part of the Drink Eat Walk DC tour was the history our guide provided as we made our way through Dupont Circle and Adam’s Morgan. The background on how these vibrant neighborhoods started and evolved was interesting and inspiring. I won’t ever walk around that part of town again without noticing some of the details I learned on the tour. But since it is a “Drink Eat Walk” tour, I will also call out how delicious the drinking and eating were! Our guide made everything easy with a recommended food and drink at each stop, but he had back up options if the recommendation didn’t work for some of our group. One thing I really enjoyed was the ability to socialize at the stops. So often the tour experience is a listening experience. My husband and I took this tour and had such a great time!! This isn’t a tour of dry dates and facts, this is a really great tour about the local neighborhoods in DC. The facts were fascinating, but the food (and Tim, of course) was the real hit. Every restaurant was family run and so delicious. This tour is unique in that the food was paired with drinks too. You could order anything, but you will be so happy if you stick with Tim’s suggestions!! (although I do recommend the gin Rickey instead of the bourbon). Group tours can sometimes be awkward, but Tim does a great job of making the group fun and there was plenty of time to chat and enjoy the food/drinks. There was no rushing from place to place, and it felt like we were a group going out together, not another tour on Tim’s schedule. Absolutely fantastic tour! I’ve lived around DC my entire life (50+ years) and I feel like I know the city pretty well. But I learned many new things and saw parts of the city I’ve never really seen before. And seeing them through the eyes of someone as passionate and engaging as Tim made the experience even better! I really enjoyed Tim’s perspective on the origins and background on these DC neighborhoods, and how that history continues to influence those neighborhoods today. The food and drink was amazing as well. The Anamoros cocktail at El Tamarindo was just fantastic, and the food was great everywhere we went. And there was a LOT of food! This is not a tour where you just get a sample of a few bits of food. We were all completely full at the end! Loved this tour, and we’re already planning to come back for another tour with family! This was a super fun tour, filled with really interesting info and insights into the locals’ DC. I went solo when my friend had to cancel the trip – and joined a group for walking the city. Our tour guide Tim was hilarious, knowledgeable, and took us to spots (along the tour and for drinks) that a tourist normally would probably not visit. The neighborhoods are beautiful – and the food was also delicious. I loved the Anamoros cocktail (yum!), the Ethiopian food, and each locale was a great add. Definitely was a highlight of the DC experience!

Highly recommended for a true taste of local DC food and spirits. The restaurants are all family-owned and have inspiring stories. We learned so much off-the-beaten-path DC history on this tour! I’m a local and I learned more about these neighborhoods in this one tour than I have in more than 20 years of living here. Tim is a knowledgeable and engaging guide whose love for D.C., its history, its people and its communities is infectious. And the food! I worried it might not be enough, but by the end of the 3rd stop on the tour — a delightful Ethiopian spot in Adams Morgan — my concern was would I have room left for dessert. I’m a longtime DC resident and just did the Drink Eat Walk tour—what a blast! This isn’t your typical walking tour. Instead of the usual monuments, we got to explore the neighborhoods of DuPont Circle and Adams Morgan. Even after living here for 15+ years, I learned a ton about the history and hidden gems in these areas. The local restaurants we visited were great—amazing food and drinks, plus some really fun stories behind each spot. Fair warning: you’ll definitely get your money’s worth when it comes to food and drink. I left absolutely stuffed! Tim, our guide, was awesome—super knowledgeable and hilarious. I’d highly recommend this tour to both locals and visitors. It’s a great way to see a different side of DC!
